Description
This paper examines AMD EPYC, AMD’s upcoming server system-on-chip (SoC). Many IT customers purchase dual-socket (2S) servers to acquire more I/O or memory capacity than what is available on Intel single-socket (1S) server architectures. AMD EPYC’s 1S processing and I/O resources have the potential to displace 2S server designs for many workloads.
